The Company
Our Client, Viatel, provides business communications services that help companies of all sizes across Europe to reduce costs, increase profits and serve their customers better. Their comprehensive portfolio of IP Voice and Data solutions includes: Voice over IP, Business Broadband & Direct Internet Access, MPLS VPNs and Ethernet, Co-Location and Internet Security.
The Brief
We were engaged by the CEO and VP Marketing of this innovative alternate Service Provider, with a brief to accelerate implementation of a new Ethernet / MPLS service. This project which had been in progress with another consultancy and was not progressing in accordance with business requirements.
What we Did
Drove the deployment of a new UK-wide service taking just four months from concept to an in-service network.
- Provided analysis of competing services
- Authored the Service Description for the new Ethernet service
- Facilitated the RFP to purchase equipment
- Created a Total Cost of Ownership model to aid selection of network equipment
- Negotiated supplier discounts on behalf of the Client
- Project Management of the deployment, coordinating internal and external parties
- Created pricing, sales tools and collateral
- Conducted sales training for direct sales
- Sourced qualified sales leads
- Created and implemented initial marketing
